Skip the exhaustive gear list—these are the pieces light enough to live in your bag every single day.
A waterproof rating means nothing if the item never leaves your closet. So instead of ranking by spec sheet, this list starts from a simpler question: what's light enough that you'd actually carry it every day? Umbrellas, phone pouches, dry bags for clothes and gear, and a towel that actually dries fast—pick two or three that match how you move through your day, not all ten at once.
Choose based on where you go most and how much weight your bag can absorb without complaint. An ultralight umbrella you never carry does nothing for you; a dry bag that doesn't fit your backpack stays home. If a wet phone is your biggest fear, start with a pouch. If it's your shoes and bag, start with a raincover. Whatever you pick, dry it fully after use and check the zippers and seams before the next storm—that habit is what makes gear last.
