Twelve real Italian sites from the drama, grouped by city instead of scene order, so you don't try to cram Rome, Siena, and Perugia into one day
The Italian arc of Can This Love Be Translated? was shot across Rome's ancient ruins, a Lazio hill town, and the medieval centers of Siena and Perugia. We cross-checked Italy's national filming location portal, regional tourism boards, and local press to compile these 12 spots β organized by city rather than by scene order, since that's how you'll actually need to move between them.
The list splits into four zones: Rome, the Lazio hill towns near Viterbo, Siena, and Perugia. Locations within a city are walkable, but getting between zones takes real travel time β so before following the list top to bottom, plot your route city by city on a map first. Hours and fees are current as of August 2026 and may change.
